Modern progressive forerunners Animals As Leaders have given us something to chew on as they put out ‘Tooth and Claw’, a brand new single off of their third studio album called The Joy of Motion which will be out on March 25 via Sumerian Records.
This song is heavy and it grooves hard. Although some sections reminded me of Veil Of Maya. But that’s the ignorant Sumerian kid in me talking. However in true AAL fashion, it takes you through twists and turns – heavy parts, beautiful and intriguing chord progressions, some electronic sounds, their iconic clean sections and not to forget, amazing drums. But let’s not break it down, let’s just enjoy the song as a whole. Note to avid AAL fans: Be patient and let the song grow on you.
‘Tooth and Claw’ has got me very excited and I’m sure The Joy of Motion will be one progressive behemoth.
