No More Battle: Abhijeet Sanyal

I have certain points which I would like to share which might help in improving the Delhi music scene –

1) Bands need to have camaraderie.
2) People need to come up and take charge rather than complain a good example is Sahil Makhija who has done a lot for the Mumbai scene
3) Ground level promotion needs to be done
4) Promoting each other through combined gigs
5) The older more experienced bands must pave the way for newer ones
6) Have newer bands open for older bands
7) Music requires selflessness and dedication posers and time pass people make the scene messy
8) Playing with the band is not like team sports the battle of bands circuit provides rivalry
9) The concept of registration fee is not acceptable its like the artist is paying people to listen to them, as a musician we need to have faith in ourselves and our creativity
10) People pursuing music as their career should not feel shy of demanding payment for playing
11) Bands need to make a profile which makes them look professional and need to act professional then only people would agree to pay you
12) Work more towards tightness and originality we have a lot influences and like a lot of artists but that doesn’t mean we have to sound like them
13) Know your sound requirements
14) Don’t put parts in your studio recordings which cannot be played live, because when you do that the audience expects you to do what you did in the recording and if you cant play it then its bad for your band image
15) Always have demos ready, never send the original track before it is released by you
16) Whenever any artist management company approaches you saying that they will promote you for free don’t fall for the trap look for the loopholes and always keep your material copyrighted
