Delhi groove metal act Murk Blare like to keep things heavy. At least that is the impression one gets as the opening chugs hit the ears on their new offering titled “The Machine”.
The band gets right down to business with a groovy opening riff and never lets up. Clocking in at 4 minutes the track doesn’t overstay its welcome as they keep it interesting throughout with some engaging riffs, pummeling drums and a very competent vocal performance. The only thing which detracts from an otherwise great experience is probably the production as the guitars felt a little lost in the mix sometimes and it was only after multiple very careful listens that the track unraveled itself in all its glory.
Nonetheless, “The Machine” is a sign of good things to come from Murk Blare and it would be interesting to see if they can keep things as entertaining in their upcoming full length ‘Fixanimus’.
