There is a lot happening in the scene nowadays, festivals every second month with decently big international lineups. The scene is definitely opening up, but at the end of it all you ponder about the sustainability of the whole model. I don’t think today there is any Indian Indie/Underground band that sustains itself wholly through its music. Even bands that have played shows all over the country probably ask themselves ‘From here, where?’ It all comes down to the scene getting more organized I guess, More charted. From what I see going on, I think we as Indian musicians have got it the easiest but somehow can’t seem to take it all the way. It’s all bound to happen, It’s just a question of when and who’s around to take that moment by its balls.
